Abstract
Holocaust survivor Gerald Holton discusses his experiences
during the Holocaust as part of the Philip N. Backstrom Survivor Lecture Series held during Northeastern
University's annual Holocaust Awareness Week.
Holton, originally from Vienna, Austria, was a teenager when the Nazis invaded and was sent to England on a Kindertransport
along with his brother. The two brothers managed to get their parents to England; Holton later came to America through a
program at Wesleyan University.
He also speaks about his childhood in Vienna and gives a general overview of the Kindertransports, and answers
audience questions. Holton went on to become an award-winning physicist and philosopher of science.
