Abstract
Holocaust survivor Jack Trompetter discusses his experiences during the Holocaust as part of the Philip N. Backstrom Survivor Lecture Series held during Northeastern University's annual Holocaust Awareness Week. Trompetter, who was born in Amsterdam in 1942, was put into hiding by his parents at three months old and went from a Quaker children's home to the home of a rural Dutch family in Heino where he was sheltered for the remainder of the war. He gives an overview of his parents' experience in the Holocaust in the Netherlands, discusses the challenges faced by his family coming back together at the end of the war, and answers questions.
